Using a framework to structure the conversation, we will survey the various aspects of design and how they play out, for better or worse, in your product.

Topics covered in this session will include visual design, interaction design, information architecture and user research. We will also specifically address design issues that AJAX and RIAs introduce and how to address them. Whether you need to work with a designer or do the work yourself, you will leave this session with resources, ideas, and examples you can apply immediately.

David Verba is director of technology for Adaptive Path. He brings 15 years of development experience with both open source and more traditional technologies to Adaptive Path. In addition to the typical mix including Sun, Java, and Oracle he has many years of involvement with a variety of Open Source approaches including Linux, Perl, Apache, Mysql, Postgres, Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
