Klocwork Announces Support for Carbide.c++, Eclipse-Based Integrated Development Environment for Symbian Developers
Carbide.c++ Integration Complements Klocwork's Existing Support for the Symbian Ecosystem

Digg This!

BURLINGTON, MA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 03/17/08 -- Klocwork, Inc., a global leader in automated source code analysis solutions for improving software security and quality, today announced support for Carbide.c++, a family of Eclipse-based development tools supporting Symbian OS development on the S60 platform, the Series 80 platform, UIQ and MOAP. Klocwork's support for the Eclipse IDE framework allows for seamless integration into industry-leading Eclipse-based IDEs like Carbide.c++, as well as customers' existing software development processes.

"Klocwork's support for Carbide.c++ is further validation of the growing acceptance of Eclipse within the embedded software development community," said Mike Milinkovich, president of Eclipse. "As a leading provider of static source code analysis, it's exciting to see Klocwork deepen its commitment to the extended Eclipse community."

The ability to integrate with Carbide.c++ complements Klocwork's previously announced support for Symbian, the market-leading open operating system for advanced data-enabled mobile phones, known as smartphones. Klocwork's solution for Symbian OS provides built-in awareness of its unique programming interfaces along with a family of defect checkers designed specifically for Symbian developers. Issues critical to Symbian development such as memory leaks, improper memory deletion and a variety of maintainability issues can all be detected with Klocwork.

"Klocwork Insight supports a wide range of Eclipse-based IDEs. Our ability to do so with Carbide.c++ only solidifies our position as the static source code analysis solution of choice for Eclipse developers," said Gwyn Fisher, chief technology officer, Klocwork. "Klocwork's support of the leading IDE for Symbian developers combined with our previously announced capabilities for Symbian delivers a powerful solution for any Symbian development organization."

Klocwork Insight is a highly scalable and accurate source code analysis tool that identifies the root causes of software security and quality defects, tracks them throughout the software development process, ensures that they have been dealt with by the development team and prevents them from recurring. Solutions are available in two versions: Klocwork Insight for C/C++ and Java and Klocwork Insight for Java.
