Webtide, the main developers of leading open source Java web container Jetty, will demonstrate its port of Jetty on Google Android, i-Jetty at EclipseCon 2008 in Santa Clara, California, on March 17-20, 2008.

Webtide, an Eclipse member, will be demonstrating how Jetty can serve contacts and information from a users’ Android-equipped phone to a normal web browser running on a normal computer. Jetty is the web and application server behind Eclipse Equinox and because of its lightweight and robust nature, it is ideal for embedding in mobile devices and platforms that require a small footprint.
