Quest Software Establishes New Standard for Simplifying Identity and Access Management
Availability of Quest Enterprise Single Sign-on Marks Most Complete Single Sign-on Offering in the Market

Digg This!

Quest Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: QSFT) has spent the past year building and acquiring products to help organizations meet their identity and access management challenges. These challenges include single sign-on, provisioning, password management, role management, strong authentication, auditing and compliance. This week, Quest unveils its comprehensive set of solutions at the RSA Conference in San Francisco (booth #2616), including the availability of its enterprise single sign-on technology as its latest foray in the market.

“Quest pioneered the single sign-on trail through its acquisition of Vintela, giving organizations the ability to enable Active Directory-based single sign-on for Unix and Linux-based desktops, as well as Java-based applications,” said Jackson Shaw, senior director, product management, Quest Software. “With the release of Quest Enterprise Single Sign-on we are further enabling our customers to leverage their investment in Active Directory by providing an industry-leading log on automation product for Windows desktops. With all these capabilities, we now have the first cross-platform suite of products that can fully address single sign-on needs of any organization.”

Quest addresses the major identity and access pain points that organizations face by helping to:

  • Authenticate – Consolidates operating system and application identities within Active Directory to provide a single identity for authentication and single sign-on. The use of a single identity enables easier integration of advanced authentication technologies such as smart cards, tokens and single sign-on.

  • Authorize – Enables controlled delegation of privileges for the Unix “root” access (or any elevated privilege), administrative logon controls, least-privileged access, web authorization, and segregation of duties.
  • Administer– Enables administrators to provision, re-provision and de-provision an identity, define roles, access policies, implement enforcement, and enable end user self-service.
  • Comply– Ensures that the processes of authentication, authorization and administration are compliant with internal and industry regulations through cross-platform change auditing, policy compliance, elevated privilege auditing, real-time alerting, and anomaly analysis.

The availability of Quest Enterprise Single Sign-on is the latest addition to the identity and access management portfolio, creating the most comprehensive solution in the market. This new product enables organizations to provide single sign-on to any application or system with no additional infrastructure.

“As organizations become more complex and distributed, tensions arise between security objectives and business needs. Managing identity-based access to business resources has become a vital skill for enterprises,” said Gerry Gebel, vice president and service director, Burton Group. “Traditional solutions that require the deployment of substantial infrastructure and reinforce a centralized command and control model will result in a difficult coexistence with modern, global organizations.”

Availability and Pricing

Quest Enterprise Single Sign-on is expected to be available by the end of April with North American pricing beginning at $40 per managed seat (USD) for 5000 or more for basic single sign-on functionality. For more information and to download a free evaluation copy please visit: www.quest.com/ESSO.
